Kwikstage Ledger: A horizontal member that locks onto the standards to form guardrails and frame spans.

Kwikstage Transom: A support beam used to secure steel scaffold boards or timber planks.

Kwikstage Diagonal Brace: Connects diagonally across standards to maintain the overall stability of the Kwikstage scaffolding structure.

Australian and African Kwikstage scaffolding systems differ in tube dimensions, material grades, connection nodes, and standards.

Australian Kwikstage Scaffolding

Tube dimensions: 48.3 mm OD × 4.0 mm wall thickness.

Material grade: Q235 / S235

Connection nodes: “Thumb-lock” style ledger ends.

Compliance: Manufactured strictly according to AS/NZS 1576 standards.

African Kwikstage Scaffolding

Tube dimensions: 48.3 mm OD × 3.35 mm wall thickness.

Material grade: S355

Connection nodes: C-shaped pressed ledger ends and locking pins.

Compliance: Manufactured according to SANS1008 standards.

Additionally, there are significant layout differences between the two standards: Australian-type Kwikstage relies primarily on transoms to support the scaffold boards, whereas African-type Kwikstage utilizes round ledgers and focuses on the use of hook-on boards for assembly.
